Photo galleries with Views Attach

A demo of a Drupal photo gallery recipe built with Views, CCK, Imagefield, Views Attach, Nodereference URL and CSS Injector.

The Node Reference URL Widget module adds a new widget to the Node Reference CCK field type. It auto-populates a node reference field with a value from the URL, and does not allow this value to be changed once set. It can automatically provide a link on the referencing node types, that will contain the proper url to prepopulate the field.

The Views attach provides two additional Views display plugins, "Profile" and "Node content". These displays do not display on a page but get "attached" to either a user page or nodes of specified types. These views are not stored with the user or node, the way view reference module would, so they can be globally-reconfigured.

The CSS Injector module allows administrators to inject CSS into the page output based on configurable rules. It's useful for adding simple CSS tweaks without modifying a site's official theme -- for example, a 'nighttime' color scheme could be added during certain hours. The CSS is added using Drupal's standard drupal_add_css() function and respects page caching, etc.

This is the worst tutorial

This is the worst tutorial ever, not properly explained, no help. Made me waste hours trying to get this done. Thank God, I found a person writing a tutorial who actually cared that those following understood. Thanks for showing me how you really are, Jeff Eaton!!!

Great work, I combined

Great work, I combined lightbox2 with this, so the field in the view is "Content: Image thumb_from_imagecache image linked to image" and it's super great.

I think, this would be great

I think, this would be great video if the steps where the modules are installed and configured are shown. There are some key steps to configure these modules and it left out.

I am currently using thick box, and it works, but I really like the feature where you can upload directly on the gallery photo page.

Please add a screen cast that shows what modules to enable and how it leads up to the beginning of this current screen cast.
